In Japan, seal is frequently used in business situations. In the process of establishing your company, you need to register two types of seal.

First, you need to register your personal seal at the city hall. If you visit the city hall with a seal, they can register your seal in an hour. By registering your seal, your seal become legally valid. You need to submit that certification of your seal when you notarize the article of incorporation and register your company at legal affairs of bureau to prove that the seal is yours.

Also, representative’s seal of the company must be registered at the local Legal Affairs Bureau. The representative seal is used to validate agreements and contracts on the company’s behalf.
